At Emotion Analyzer, your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome extension collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our product. By installing or using the Emotion Analyzer extension, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

The Emotion Analyzer extension is designed to collect minimal data to perform its functions. Specifically, we may collect:

• User-selected text: Only the text that the user actively selects and submits for emotion analysis.
• User preferences: Language selection and the number of emotion labels to display. These are stored locally in the browser via chrome.storage.

We do not collect or store any personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, email addresses, browsing history, IP addresses, or cookies.

2. How We Use the Information

• The selected text is securely transmitted to our remote server (API) for real-time emotion detection using artificial intelligence models.
• The API analyzes the text and returns emotion labels such as joy, sadness, anger, etc.
• The results are displayed in the extension interface and are not stored on the server.
• User preferences are saved locally and are only used to enhance the user experience.

3. Data Sharing and Third-Party Access

We do not share, sell, or rent your data to any third parties. All data sent to our API is processed temporarily and immediately discarded after analysis. We do not store user text, metadata, or results after the analysis process is completed.

We also do not use any third-party analytics, trackers, or advertising networks.

4. Use of Remote Code

This extension uses a secure remote API endpoint to perform emotion analysis. This is necessary because the AI model used for classification is too large and complex to run within the browser itself.

• No external JavaScript or WebAssembly code is dynamically loaded into the extension.
• The only remote code interaction is through a secure HTTPS call to our own hosted backend API.
• We do not use eval() or load third-party scripts.

5. Permissions Explanation

The extension uses the following permissions and only for the stated purposes:

• storage: To save user preferences such as language and label count locally.
• contextMenus: To allow the user to trigger emotion analysis via right-click context menu.
• activeTab: To allow temporary access to the current page so the user can analyze highlighted text.
• host permissions: Required to securely communicate with our backend API server for emotion analysis.

These permissions are essential for the extension to function properly and are never used to track or collect user data.

6. Data Security

• All communication between the extension and our server is encrypted using HTTPS (SSL/TLS).
• Our backend server does not retain logs of any user-submitted text.
• We do not associate any input or analysis result with a specific user, device, or IP address.

7. Children’s Privacy

Our extension is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from or about children.
